BMW picks PSA diesel engine for Mini, paper reports
Reuters
FRANKFURT - BMW has picked PSA Peugeot Citroen's diesel engines for its urban-chic Mini brand cars, industry newspaper Automobilwoche reported.
In a report to be published on Monday, the newspaper said PSA edged out current supplier Toyota for the next series of Mini coming to the market in 2007.
Automobilwoche quoted BMW management as saying that PSA's diesel engines were chosen partly because of their lower price, bigger cylinder and higher engine power.
