Tena M. Hermance of Royal Oak has joined Campbell-Ewald Direct, Detroit, as vice president and senior account supervisor. Hermance worked at Doner, Southfield.

Awards

The Greater Detroit Chapter of the National Association of Women Business Owners named Katherine Banicki, president of Testing Engineers & Consultants Inc., Troy, one of the Top Ten Michigan Business Women.

The following 21st Century Rosies were honored by Operation ABLE of Michigan, Southfield, in a ceremony at the Ford Rouge Factory Tour: Gov. Jennifer Granholm; Carmen Harlan, senior news anchor WDIV-TV; Nancy Schlichting, CEO Henry Ford Health System; and Anne Stevens, group vice president, Canada, Mexico and South America, Ford Motor Co. Also highlighted at the celebration were the following original Rosies: Mable Lee Allison of Detroit, who worked at the Firestone Rubber Co. on B52 bombers in Los Angeles during the war; Marjorie Hirt of Grosse Pointe, who worked at Pratt & Whitney on B24 bombers in Melrose Park, Ill., and Joan Cone of Farmington Hills who worked at the Signal Battery Co. in Milwaukee inserting cells into batteries used in the war.

Education

Greenhills School, Ann Arbor, appointed John Nickel as director of finance and business operations.

Finance

Hennessey Capital, Huntington Woods, hired Angie Gaietto as an account executive and marketing assistant. Gaietto will be responsible for client account management and marketing program assistance.

Bowne & Co. Inc., headquartered in New York City, has named Raymond Batt, of Canton, president -- central region, Bowne Financial Print. Batt will be responsible for the offices in Detroit, Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Houston, Indianapolis, Milwaukee, Minneapolis, New Orleans, Oklahoma City, Phoenix, San Antonio and St. Louis.

Health care

St. John Detroit Riverview Hospital has appointed W. Anthony Greer, M.D., as vice president of medical affairs. Dr. Greer served as vice president of medical affairs and medical director at Cayuga Medical Center in Ithaca, N.Y., and is board-certified in ophthalmology.

North Oakland Medical Centers, Pontiac, has appointed Beth Johnson to director of Clinical Performance Improvement.

Law

Farmington Hills attorney, Julie I. Fershtman, of counsel to Zausmer, Kaufman, August & Caldwell PC, has been invited to become a fellow of the American Bar Foundation.

Nonprofit

The Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan, Livonia, has named Aimee Argel of Grosse Pointe Woods director of Leadership Philanthropy for Southeast Michigan. Merry Gastambide of Perry joins as a wish manager in the Lansing office and Felicia Powers of Rochester Hills as the manager of volunteer services in the Livonia office. Kedrin Ruuspakka of Novi has been promoted to community development manager for the Livonia office. Laura Stimpson of Ypsilanti joins as the customer care coordinator.

Real estate

Alexander Bieri has joined Bieri Co., Detroit, as real estate and marketing project manager.
