Lincoln has 'big sky' visions

DETROIT - Lincoln offered up a "big sky” vision with the introduction Monday of its MKS concept sedan at the North American International Auto Show.
The sleek, four-door luxury concept features a transparent, vista-style roof and 20-inch wheels. It is powered by a 315-horsepower V8 mated to a six-speed automatic transmission with all-wheel drive.
Ford Motor Co. also introduced the Lincoln MKX, a pre-production version of its new crossover utility vehicle. It goes into production late this year in Oakville, Ont., as a 2007 model. It features 3.5-liter V6 with six-speed automatic transmission.

Ford spokesman Jim Padilla said the MKX will be in the “affordable” range. He said itand Ford's new Edge crossover will have a significant sales impact. Ford said it has no plans to export the MKX or MKS, should it be built.
