Detroit -- Three teens were arrested Monday night after the stolen pickup truck they were riding in struck a car, killing two people.
About 9:15 p.m., police were alerted to a red Dodge Ram hitting a pole near Pingree on the city's west side and fleeing the scene.
En route to the site, officers spotted the pickup heading north at a high rate of speed on Linwood and began to follow it, said Detroit Police spokesman John Roach.

Seconds later, the truck collided with a Pontiac near Fullerton, he said.
The two people inside the car were pronounced dead. Their names have not been released.
A background check revealed the pickup had been reported stolen from Gibraltar, Roach said.
The three teens inside -- two 16-year-old boys and a 17-year-old girl -- were taken into custody and transported to a local hospital for treatment. Their injuries were not expected to be life-threatening, Roach said.
Investigators will send information to the Wayne County Prosecutor's Office for possible charges.
