Wixom -- Wixom Police arrested a 42-year-old man around 6:50 a.m. today after he was chased by employees of a gas station for allegedly robbing the station at I-96 and Wixom Road.
The suspect entered the Sunoco gas station and told three employees he wanted money from the cash register or he would shoot them, according to Clarence Goodlein, director of public safety for the Wixom Police Department.
He proceeded behind the counter and took an undisclosed amount of money from the register drawer while employees threw groceries at him. Witnesses said he then jumped over the counter and fled out the front door with two employees chasing him, Goodlein said.

The suspect got into a fight with the employees, who sustained minor injuries to their faces before the suspect got away. The suspect made his way onto westbound I-96 on foot and jumped the barrier into the eastbound lanes and was captured by police, Goodlein added.
He was taken to Providence Hospital after complaining of medical problems and was released back into police custody when doctors determined he was OK.
Officials are searching the area for the gun the suspect indicated he had.
