Tom Long / The Detroit News

It's the end of the world as we know it, and Viggo Mortensen plays a man trying to lead his son through the dangerous desolation to some semblance of safety in "The Road," November's featured film at Tom Long's Reel Talk, showing at 7 p.m. Nov. 19. Reel Talk, now in its final year, is a film preview and discussion group hosted by Detroit News film critic Tom Long, held one Thursday night a month at the Emagine Novi, located at 44425 W. 12 Mile, Novi. Registration for Reel Talk is $50 a year (pro-rated through next June) and nonrefundable. Participants must be at least 18. Proceeds go to Michigan K.I.D.S., which provides newspapers and reading materials to schools. For more information, call (313) 222-1457. "The Road" opens Nov. 25.
