Gas station workers fight back against robber
Employees of a Wixom gas station fought back Thursday against an alleged robber, pelting him with groceries and chasing him onto the freeway. The suspect, 42, entered the Sunoco gas station at Interstate 96 and Wixom Road and told three employees he wanted money from the cash register or he would shoot them, said Clarence Goodlein, director of public safety for the Wixom Police Department. He jumped behind the counter and took cash as employees threw groceries at him. He then jumped over the counter and fled out the front door with two employees chasing him, Goodlein said. The suspect made his way down onto westbound I-96 on foot and was captured by police, Goodlein said.
