GLIAC names WSU back Joique Bell top player

Wayne State senior running back Joique Bell has been voted the player of the year for the Great Lakes Intercolliagte Athletic Conference, in a vote by head coaches Wednesday.

Bell finished the regular season leading the nation -- that's for any NCAA division, not just Wayne State's Division II -- in rushing (2,084 yards), scoring (17.45 points per game) and all-purpose yards (2,392).

For his career, Bell, 23, from Benton Harbor, Mich., had 6,728 rushing yards, good for eighth-best in NCAA history, and scored 576 points, for fifth in NCAA history.
