Lansing sees sparks of hope
GM brings 1,000 jobs to hard-hit area
In a throwback to an era when auto plant jobs made Michigan a land of riches, General Motors Co. intends to run its Lansing Delta Township plant day and night, Monday through Friday. GM, which plans to add a third shift at two other U.S. plants, contends it's a bold step in efficiency; some analysts say it's a risky move.
Toyota recalls Priuses worldwide
Toyota said it is recalling about 437,000 Prius and other hybrid cars worldwide over braking problems as the company moves aggressively to repair damage to its reputation.
Ford ready to take wraps off Transit Connect Electric
Dearborn --Ford Motor Co. is scheduled to unveil the Ford Transit Connect Electric on Wednesday at the Chicago Auto Show. It's the first in a series of battery-powered vehicles from the Dearborn automaker.
