Detroit -- Choirs from around the county will raise the roof at Joe Louis Arena and vie for a $25,000 prize today as they compete for the title of "The Best Church Choir in America." The Detroit Symphony Orchestra's 37/11 discount program gets a boost throughout the month of November. Normally, the club allows anyone 37 or younger to obtain selected DSO tickets for just $11. (The Max M. Fisher Music Center's address is 3711 Woodward Ave., in case you were wondering how they came up with those numbers.) For this month, however, tickets will be $5 instead of $11. Members of 37/11 also can get discount perks to stores such as House of Chants in Ferndale, Mudgie's sandwich shop in Corktown or the Majestic Café in Detroit.
