Taxicab crashes into Cobo

The Detroit News

Detroit -- A man driving a taxicab Saturday night on Washington Boulevard in downtown Detroit crashed into Cobo Center, Detroit police said.

Investigators are unsure what caused the crash, which occurred around 9 p.m. It is not known if the driver suffered a medical condition, lost control of the vehicle or was trying to avoid a pedestrian, Sgt. Eren Stephens Bell said.

The man was taken to an area hospital with undisclosed injuries, Stephens Bell said. No other injuries were reported, she said.
