The cyclist was southbound on Gratiot, south of Quinn Road, shortly after midnight when the collision occurred, Clinton Township police said in a news release.

It was the second collision in Clinton Township in the space of a few hours that left a person in critical condition.

At about 10:30 p.m. Saturday, a 1997 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by a 16-year-old Clinton Township male was westbound on Cass between Halsey and Romeo Plank when the car struck a man in the roadway, police said. The driver stopped at the scene and reported the accident.

The pedestrian, who was reported in critical condition, is a 43-year-old Mount Clemens resident.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, police said.
