Hear 4 new Jackson 5 songs today

Susan Whitall / The Detroit News

Four never-released Jackson 5 songs featuring the voice of a young Michael Jackson can be heard today in an exclusive preview on amazon.com.

To promote "I Want You Back! Unreleased Masters," a 12-track CD Universal Motown to be released Nov. 10 to commemorate the 40th anniversary of the group's first hit, "I Want You Back," fans can listen to four full-length tracks today.

Here are the songs retrieved from the vast Motown vault featured in the amazon.com listening party:

• "Love Comes in Different Flavors." An upbeat track from The Corporation, the elite Motown production team led by Deke Richards (and including the boss, Berry Gordy, as well as Freddie Perren and Alphonso Mizell) that produced "I Want You Back."

• "I'll Try You'll Try (Maybe We'll All Get By)," a funky political jam co-written and produced by Motown producer Johnny Bristol ("Someday We'll Be Together").

• "Lucky Day." Mid-tempo ballad produced by Hal Davis, who was responsible for "I'll Be There," "Dancing Machine" and many more J5 songs.

• "Listen I'll Tell You How." Produced and co-written by Motown singer (and producer) Bobby Taylor, who was the person who really discovered the Jackson 5. Recorded in Detroit for the J5's first album.

The Nov. 10 release will also feature a never-released Stevie Wonder song, "Buttercup," from 1974, and various alternate takes of popular songs like "Never Can Say Goodbye" and "Dancing Machine."

The set will include never-before seen photos, and original Motown engineer Russ Terrana remixed some of the tracks for release.
