Ford, Delta think pink
Companies aglow in pink for cancer fight
Two Metro Detroit companies showed their support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month in big pink ways Monday.
As the sun set, Ford Motor Co. bathed the Glass House in Dearborn in pink light. About 200 people wearing pink and touched by breast cancer -- including survivors, employees, retirees and dealers, helped mark the event. Ford will light its World Headquarters in pink again tonight -- and the pink glow will last through the morning.
The company is a 15-year supporter of Susan G. Komen for the Cure and has dedicated more than $100 million.

Delta Air Lines Inc. took its pink Boeing 757 to Detroit Metropolitan Airport in one of the company's biggest shows of support for Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
The plane, which came from Delta's hub in Atlanta, attracted a lot of attention at Gate A40 in the McNamara Terminal, where passersby got a good look through floor-to-ceiling windows behind the terminal's water feature.
Delta has emerged in recent years as one of the biggest supporters of the cancer-fighting cause, with thousands of employees donning pink ties, dresses and accessories. Profits from the onboard sale of pink lemonade go to research.
