Lions need to sell 10,000 tickets to lift TV blackout

Tim Twentyman / The Detroit News

Allen Park -- The Lions have to sell approximately 10,000 more tickets for Sunday's game against the St. Louis Rams for it to be televised locally on Fox.

The team has until 1 p.m. Thursday to sell the remaining tickets or prove to the NFL that they are close to selling out to receive a 24-hour extension to Friday at 1 p.m.

The Lions did not sell out Ford Field in five of their last six games last season. They've sold out two of their first three home games this year.
