Class action tree suit set for May 2010 trial
A trial date has been set for May 12, 2010, in Macomb County Circuit Court for a class-action lawsuit against the city involving 7,000 Warren residents. The lawsuit seeks compensation for property damages caused by the aggressive roots of the city-owned and mandated trees. The Michigan Supreme Court ruled in favor of the plaintiffs in May 2008, after the suit languished in appellate court for seven years.
