Romulus pair charged with robbing 4 people in a single day

Romulus -- An apologetic robber and his female partner have been arrested and charged with robbing four people in one day in the Downriver area.
According to Detroit News reporting partner WXYZ-TV (Channel 7), Edward Bitz and Regina Mendoza were arrested at their Romulus home on Sunday.
The pair, who has three children together, has been accused of robbing three women and a man in Trenton, Woodhaven and Taylor in one day.

The victims said Bitz was polite and apologetic, telling victims that he needed the money for his children. The victims said Bitz also returned personal items that they asked to keep.
Bitz has been charged with armed and unarmed robbery while Mendoza has been charged with unarmed robbery. Bitz is currently in the Wayne County Jail on a $500,000 bond. Mendoza has been released on a $50,000 personal bond.
If convicted, Bitz faces up to life in prison.
