Howell --A Fowlerville woman, believed to be in her 80s, was killed and her husband hospitalized after a crash with a Livingston Essential Transportation Service bus on Grand River and Highlander Way about 10 a.m., Howell Police Chief George Basar said.

The elderly man was taken to University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor for a head injury, he said. His condition is not known. The bus driver was not injured. There were no passengers on the bus at the time of the crash.

"Preliminary indications are that the LETS bus was entering the intersection against the light," he said.
