Waterford teacher's aide charged in sexual assault of students

Waterford -- Amy Ellsworth was arraigned today before Judge Richard Kuhn Jr. on six charges of criminal sexual conduct with students in the Waterford School district.

Oakland County Prosecutor Attorney Jessica R. Cooper has charged the 37-year-old teacher's aide with four counts of first degree criminal sexual assault and two counts of third degree criminal sexual assault for alleged offenses with students between October 2008 and September 2009.

A first degree criminal sexual assault count carries a maximum life sentence while conviction of a third degree charge can result in up to 15 years in prison.

Ellsworth will have a pre-exam conference in 51st District Court on Nov. 10.
