Get free fingerprinting and DNA kits for kids
Families can receive free biometric fingerprinting and DNA identification kits for children from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Nov. 14, at the Fairlane Ford dealership, 14585 Michigan Ave. The child safety program is being offered to increase parents chances of quickly recovering a child if they become missing by having them on file in the FBI database. Transit company for the disabled is dropped
The city announced Thursday that ATC/Vancom Inc., recently operating as Veolia Transportation, will no longer provide Detroit Metro Lift para-transit service. The city's bus service will continue to do so using different providers for the service that provides direct delivery to those with disabilities.
• Science and engineering career expo set: Wayne State University officials will host a free science and engineering career exploration event for high school and college students Nov. 18. It will be held on Wayne State's campus at the McGregor Memorial Conference Center, 495 Ferry Mall. Registration is required at www.escalate.wayne.edu.
