General Dynamics breaks ground for vehicle center in Sterling Heights

Associated Press

Sterling Heights -- General Dynamics Corp. is building a Metro Detroit center it says will speed the design and construction of new military land vehicles.

General Dynamics Land Systems holds a groundbreaking ceremony Monday in Sterling Heights, where the division is headquartered. The company says the Mounted Maneuver Collaboration Center will cost $8.2 million, occupy 22,000 square feet and open next year.

Republican U.S. Rep. Candice Miller of Harrison Township will be the keynote speaker.
