Man accused of slashing officer, faces felony charges
A Warren man accused of slashing a city police officer in the head and face with a butcher knife was arraigned Monday on charges of assault with intent to commit murder and other felony charges. Johnathan Patrick Williams, 20, allegedly assaulted the officer Friday during a confrontation. Two officers were called to a car wash at Eight Mile and Groesbeck on Friday on reports a man was causing trouble. When officers confronted Williams at a nearby home, he picked up a knife and slashed one of them, police said. He is being held on a $500,000 cash surety bond.
