Man shot 15 times likely target of a hit, police say

A 26-year-old man shot multiple times Friday morning at an east side gas station was likely the target of an organized hit, police said.
The victim, who was shot 15 times in the head and body, was sitting near a gas pump at the Marathon station, near Mack and Connor when a vehicle drove by and opened fire.

The man is in critical condition.

More than 100 protest once-a-week layoffs
Once-weekly layoffs of 700 Wayne County workers began Friday, prompting more than 100 employees to protest outside the Guardian Building downtown.
Ficano imposed the indefinite furloughs to save $6 million after unions resisted his demands for a 10 percent pay cut.
Clerk offices and the Register of Deeds were closed because of the layoffs, which unions are fighting in court.

Trustees to consider liquor license for bar
The Canton Township Board of Trustees is set to meet at 7 p.m. Tuesday to consider setting a public hearing for a Class C liquor license for a new bar and grill at the former Don Pablo's restaurant on Ford Road.
K&H Restaurant Group is seeking the license for Hayden's Grill and Bar, which will employ 140 people and likely open in June or July.
A public hearing is set for March 10.
