The Grand Experiment: Taking a baby-sitting stand
It's a tough balancing act: Cut too much, and the best sitters will simply drop the Your Money family. Yet you need sitters smart enough to help your kid with homework, not some tween-age girls giving him plot points to the latest "Twilight" installment. Child care always is a gnarly problem, and in this case the answer is simple: Dad. - 11/23/2009

Dr. Paul Donohue
No cure, but plenty of canker sore treatments
Dear Dr. Donohue: I've been bothered with canker sores of the mouth for almost a year. And I'm talking about having five or six at a time. Is there a cure? - 11/23/2009
Jeanne Phillips: Dear Abby
Man's daughters too much for girlfriend
Dear Abby: I have been dating "Charlie" for almost a year. We both have children from previous relationships. He has recently been talking about marriage, but as much as I care for him, I am reluctant. - 11/23/2009
Does exercising while pregnant put the baby at risk?
For women who are avid exercisers, pregnancy can present a challenge in terms of making necessary modifications to ensure baby's safety. Lisa Druxman, who specializes in pre- and postnatal fitness, says that pregnant athletes don't have to completely overhaul their normal routine, as medical guidelines for exercise are now much less conservative than in years past. - 11/22/2009
Jeanne Phillips: Dear Abby
Musical mom mortifies daughter
DEAR ABBY: I am an 11-year-old girl who loves going shopping and doing various stuff with my mom. But when we go to the mall or stop for lunch and she hears a song she likes, she'll start singing to it. And if we're standing up, she even dances to it a little. - 11/21/2009

Doctor must diagnose leg, ankle swelling
Dear Dr. Donohue: My legs, ankles and feet get really swollen, and I mean really. During the day, if I slip my shoes off, I can't get them back on. What can I do to take down the swelling? - 11/21/2009

Jeanne Phillips: Dear Abby
Woman's size shouldn't deter quest for love
Dear Abby: I'm 32 and a "large girl." I am also intelligent, witty and fun to be around. I make friends wherever I go. The problem is my mother -- who is also big -- keeps telling me that heavy women are not desirable and we must "settle" when it comes to choosing a mate. - 11/20/2009
Grinch! North Pole irked at end to Santa replies
Starry-eyed children writing letters to the jolly man at the North Pole this holiday season likely won't get a response from Santa Claus or his helpers. The U.S. Postal Service is dropping a popular national program begun in 1954 in the small Alaska town of North Pole, where volunteers open and respond to thousands of letters addressed to Santa each year. - 11/19/2009

Paul Donohue: Your Health
'Prolapse' is defined as 'dropping' of organ
Dear Dr. Donohue: I recently developed a prolapsed bladder. While I know it is not life-threatening, I want to take care of it ASAP. I am 74 and very active. My gynecologist wants me to do Kegel exercises and be fitted with a pessary. He doesn't want to do surgery. I would like the surgery while I am healthy enough to recover in a timely manner and get it over with. Please give me your opinion. - 11/19/2009
Jeanne Phillips: Dear Abby
Guilt mars comfort couple finds as lovers
Dear Abby: Is there anything wrong with having a lover solely for the purpose of sex? He is grieving for his late wife (my best friend), and I am separated from my husband. We're both lonely and have supported each other through our pain. A few weeks ago we decided to become lovers. - 11/19/2009
