1999 Michiganians of the Year

As a result of our Michiganians efforts, Metro Detroiters can contact agencies like Matrix Human Services for such necessities as food, shelter, counseling, education and job skills. Detroit children are benefiting from school reform. More college-bound students have access to business-funded scholarships.
Detroits neighborhoods are getting a hand fighting the AIDS/HIV epidemic. Institutions like the Detroit Symphony are receiving long-term financial assistance. The areas largest cultural organizations are working together more effectively.
This is just a sampling of the good things happening because of this 22nd annual group of Michiganians. Well be feeling the full benefits of their work around the state for years.
